Our Adoption Journey

Andy & I decided to adopt in October of last year. It was something we had been talking about for a while, but after two miscarriages we decided to stop trying to have biological children for a while and to focus on fulfilling our dream of adding to our family through adoption. It was a relatively easy decision, it was one of those that felt right from the start. We also knew almost immediately that it would be from Africa, anyone that knows me very well knew this immediaetly also. After looking through different programs and countries we felt that Ethiopia was the country we were being drawn to. We haven't looked back since. It has been an eye opening and sometimes frustrating experience. We have completed our homestudy, for those who don't know what that is: its basically a very detailed report about who we are and everything we have. We are just about to submit our dossier documents and hopefully be on the waiting list shortly. But we will keep you in the loop!
